Brandt is a family name.
More specifically, it’s the family name of our owner, Ernie Brandt. So when we started looking for a name for this new business, it was a pretty good contender.
The Brandt family’s history with wood eventually led to Wildwood Grilling. Decades later, we found ourselves with a handful of fire products that made sense for us to make — but didn’t quite make as much sense under a brand devoted to cooking. We wanted to reach people building fires for all sorts of reasons, not just people standing over a grill.
They needed their own home.
